We want to thank everyone for attending, and express our appreciation for Tobi’s efforts dealing with tonight’s technical challenges.
We will be posting our summary of tonight’s CB2 Pier 40 Forum as soon as we can.
Feel free to leave your comments.
Dear Friend of Pier 40,
Thank you for coming! We are very sorry that some of you didn’t get in.
The overflow crowd is an indication of how important Pier 40 is to the future of our community.
Let us know that you got there.
Soon, our elected officials will make decisions that will determine the future of Pier 40. These decisions will make a big difference to families like yours on the Manhattan’s Lower West Side.
Two very different ideas for the future of the pier are being considered, one from youth sports leagues and schools, the other from developer Douglas Durst. These are not development proposals. They are visions that will be embraced or prohibited by law when the Hudson River Park Act is amended.
No one has all the answers, but we do all value the Pier 40 fields. We need to protect and improve our parks and our play spaces. Decision makers need to know we care. Please sign a petition and make your voice heard.
